I wonder what video game series has survived the most complete reinventions
like, Zelda's had at least two, with the 2d->3d transition and then breath of the wild
pokemon had one so far, with sun and moon completely changing the formula
mario is an odd case, because its 3d and 2d versions are both still active and getting new entries, but it's had at least one reinvention too
sonic has... stumbled its way along through at least one

fuck
just finally got all the things together to order a $1500 purchase of stuff we need for a project
and the company got back to us saying "we messed up on that quote, that $42 each is supposed to say $220 each"
we can't remotely afford that and now I think we're going to have to redesign things that I thought were already done with
it's this level of specificity that really impresses me--it's not hard, if you know much music theory or even if you're just musically inclined, to write music that sounds "anxious" or "frantic" or "happy", but narrowing in on something as specific as this is no small feat
I really do think that clock town day 3 is a masterpiece of capturing a very (and I do mean very) specific emotion in music
Beyond just giving a feeling of unease or franticness it very clearly and in no uncertain terms lays out that specific kind of denial where something is wrong and everyone is simultaneously trying to escape the wrong thing and trying to pretend it doesn't exist and nothing is actually wrong at all, everything's fine here
