just did a double-take writing a comment on the electronics stackexchange when I saw the person asking the question was @zetasyanthis xD

In contrast, One-Winged Angel conveys a sense of hopelessness, of overbearing power. It's not trying to achieve the same thing, and I think comparing the two is missing the point.

Final boss music can have any number of different moods to it, from the hopeful and heroic to the dark and hopeless, and even, in rare cases, the calm and serene.

The comments on the video I found of the piece compare it to One-Winged Angel, but I don't think I'd put it in the same category. This piece wants to convey a completely different mood than One-Winged Angel, and trying to compare the two is not very useful.

The False God of Causality sounds like a heroic climax of a movie, when the good guys have finally started to push back and gain footing against the bad guys.

The Ys series has gone through a lot of changes since its roots on the NEC PC-88. The music included. There are elements of the original style in the driving percussion, but the grandiose orchestration of this piece is a far cry from something you'd find in Ys I or II. It works really well, considering the circumstances when it's played.

honestly I don't know if this counts as a joke or just an intrusive thought

Contents of a strange toolbox

One precision sledgehammer
A complete set of security screwdrivers, but no flathead, phillips head, hex keys, or torx bits
An eclectic selection of pentagonal wrenches that don't appear to follow any standard sizing you've ever heard of
A macrometer
One and a half pairs of calipers (three calipers total)
Exactly thirteen unthreaded screws. Always exactly thirteen. If you take one out, there will still be thirteen.

the tech industry has ended up with so many monopolies on modes of communication that I'm finding it difficult to get someone to understand that just because mastodon doesn't have a central authority doesn't mean it's just lawless

talk about kink stuff, but not kink stuff

I find it frustrating when I find someone who's a really good author or artist who's into the same stuff I am, but who is into it for completely different reasons and has like, nonconsensual stuff in it and stuff >.<

The more uncomfortable a community or person makes the part of my mind that's been brainwashed into upholding societal conventions, the better

Don't just be as weird as you want - be as weird as possible. Defy all attempts to categorize and understand, until the only available option is to accept that people don't need to be fucking categorized or understood. Don't try to win the favor of people who want to decide what is and isn't acceptable, but make their goals as difficult to achieve as possible. Terrify them. Only you get to decide who you are
