do you ever just randomly remember that one moment in earthbound where a plot-required door can only be opened by standing motionless in front of it for five minutes of real time?
do we have any plastics right now that are in common use and are made with zero petrochemicals? I know there are plant-based plastics out there but I don't know if any of them use no petrochemicals to manufacture.

then again, i bet an author like arthur c clarke could have done something fascinating with it
I feel like this has strong potential for a plot to a sci-fi/fantasy thing
the book starts with the realization that astrology works on venus and then goes on to *why* does it work there, using equations worked out by people millennia ago who were definitely on earth at the time... right?
it's not the most fascinating plot out there but it's about on par with some of the cheap paperbacks we've found in the library's used bookshop
What if it turned out that astrology was actually 100% true and predictive but it actually only works if you look at things from the perspective of venus
we should maybe go... actually finish breath of the wild sometime
the game has so much content that actually doing the final boss is kind of... not a thing we want to do yet? but we're *still* avoiding spoilers for the late game and it came out years ago

oh huh, apparently the main reason the game gear was such a battery hog was that it used a ccfl backlight
apparently you can mod a game gear to use an led backlight pretty easily and modded ones have comparable battery life to a game boy (about five times a stock game gear)
