apparently whether you play it on a widescreen display or not actually materially affects the speedrun of super mario galaxy 120 star
because you need a lot of star bits for that speedrun and you can pick up star bits by pointing the wii remote at them, but that only works for ones that are on screen, and the game has a habit of having star bits spawn in around mario/luigi while in autoscrolling segments specifically to be picked up this way. some of them spawn offscreen at 4:3 resolutions

update: looked at the video description, galaxy 1 is 120 star and galaxy 2 is 242 star
wow, that's an impressive feat
I'm assuming it refers to back-to-back runs of SM64 120 star, Super Mario Sunshine 120 shine, Super Mario Galaxy 242 star, and Super Mario Galaxy 2 242 star runs... except that doesn't add up to 602. I guess one of the galaxy runs is a 120 star one?

so here's an idea for them who is crafty enough to be making/selling masks
if you're making masks for children and have some awkward scraps, consider making some masks that are around the right size for 18-inch dolls/american girl dolls and selling it as a pack
kids make sense of the world through play and wearing masks is gonna be the new normal for a hot minute, after all
