apparently there was an article in usa today once mocking a very skilled speedrunner for being irresponsible and playing video games all day

things are finally starting to go well for us

they haven't even been going all that badly but things are looking up and it's such a relief

we're likely to get this job we applied for, we're finally finishing our master's degree that took way too long since our advisor left the university with very little notice, the protests around the world are making things shift ever so slightly towards being better...

it's not perfect by a long shot but things are moving that way, slowly

we're probably going to not upgrade the gpu for a little while and focus on just getting the vr headset first, i'm sure we can do some stuff with what we have and it'll just be a bit lower quality and stuff. we're going to have *some* money, not a ridiculous amount of money

since it's looking like we might actually have a job soon and thus have more money than we usually have available to us, does anyone here know much about what the best way to get VR going on a budget is? We want to get a valve index (which i know is far from the cheapest VR thingy out there, but we don't want to give money to facebook), but our current computer has a GTX 1060-6GB and we're led to believe that might not cut it for some VR stuff; what gpu is a good cost/performance balance?

pokemon gen 2 is a really cozy game... from the atmosphere to the music it just feels like a really comfortable place and also like a real place

probably because it's very heavily based on an actual part of japan, and more rural than the bit that gen 1 was based on, and it's before there was a lot of really overtly/visibly futuristicky stuff in the series
