this is just a random realization i got while watching a numberphile video that mentions how the sum of the reciprocals of all numbers that don't contain a 7 in their decimal expansion (or that don't contain a 0, or a 1, etc) converges, which means they're less numerous than the primes since the sum of the reciprocals of the primes diverges

saying that the sum of the reciprocals of numbers in some infinite set converges is essentially saying that the numbers get bigger faster than they get numerous

there's a surprising amount of mathematics that's just like, "all the experts think this is true but no one has figured out any way to prove it's true yet"

the fact that so many disparate things in physics follow the same equations is kind of fascinating

it's kind of fascinating that we know that almost all numbers are normal (i.e. the set of non-normal numbers is measure zero) and yet we've only ever found like less than a dozen examples of normal numbers

we have tons of numbers we think are probably normal, but no one has figured out how to prove that yet
