it's like. all the good parts of a jrpg with a combat system that's not turn based

i find it kind of amusing that by pure chance, the three Tales games we had but had not yet played also happen to be the three games that
- use a different combat system focused on combos
- use a behind-the-character camera in battle rather than a side-on camera
- have peach and grape gels instead of lemon gels
