using words like "drastic" or "severe" to describe things that they would not normally be used to describe is amusing

"these are some drastic cookies"
"those are really severe socks you're wearing"

they didn't even have a price label on them, but i imagine if they did they'd be several hundred

we went to the grocery store yesterday and they had a display all about parmigiano-reggiano (which waterfox has helpfully decided should be spelling-corrected to paranoia-reggiano) and in addition to a bunch of reasonably sized wedges of the cheese (which were still really expensive due to being imported cheese) they had five half-wheels of it, about 20 pounds each

i can't help but wonder if anyone has ever purchased one of those from them

The details involved in measuring extremely small currents (on the order of femtoamperes) and capacitances (on the order of hundreds of attofarads) are *fascinating*

where does the "draw me like one of your french girls" line come from anyway

Furry fashion! @Sanagi 's Anna, pre-aug, showing off some cultural garb from her home planet :D

Fun to work with honestly, was really interesting to do some loosely Polynesian inspired stuff! We went through a few ideas but settled here.

If curious, yes, the bark-shaving shawl does have some patina in it! The local trees contain trace metals

so it turns out measuring hundred-femtofarad-level capacitances on a probe station is maybe more doable than we'd thought

of course moving the wires changes the reading by more than double its actual magnitude so we basically need to get coaxial probes and drive the shield but it's not as abysmal a situation as we'd thought

character design thoughts, weird

kinda want to do stuff with a multibodied character who's just multibodied, it's not a new thing to them but probably a strange thing to others...

feeling very blah. i think we're going to bed early today, if we can manage to with how light it is outside

we should get blackout curtains

(some semiconductors have very similar electron and hole mobilities, and they wouldn't suffer from this problem. Some organic semiconductors have hole mobility higher than electron mobility, even! But silicon has very low hole mobility relative to electron mobility, and it's by far the most common and cheapest semiconductor.)

(p-channel MOSFETs and p-type IGBTs, and pnp BJTs for that matter, are generally substantially lower performance than the n-channel/n-type/npn counterparts due primarily to the fact that most common semiconductors have much lower hole mobility than electron mobility, so unless they're absolutely required in some application they're generally avoided)
