kobolds are really important to me on a personal level!! it makes me really happy to see more people liking them
something about turning what feels like an unfair, dehumanizing narrative on its head by genuinely loving and valuing kobolds gives me a warm feeling inside

aside from them just being cool critters, i love kobolds because i relate to and sympathize with how they're treated in their original context
they're fragile creatures seen as weak and lesser, regularly mistreated when they aren't murdered without a second thought. looked down on for worshipping dragons and being thieves and rascals
there's something powerful and queer about subverting that bleak narrative, and treating kobolds as precious and valuable and lovable creatures that learned to be crafty to take care of each other, and happily serve dragons in exchange for care and protection

@kat a take like that reeks of sex-shaming clout addiction where somebody is just throwing some bullshit “opinion” on why something people enjoy is “problematic” so that they can feel like they’re the new star of the show and are so brave for speaking up against an imagined problem.
It also reeks of typical “BDSM is bad actually and anybody that engages in anything other than sex in the missionary position is a predator” shit that people spew occasionally.
