You know how I was talking about not doing fan games? I was able to completely remove my Chrono Break idea from Chrono as a series and I already have something that completely stands on its own, with a battle system that combines and enhances those from CT and CC, and a cast that really doesn't need any returning characters.

Sure, it meant cutting a lot of cool ideas about the way Chrono loose ends could be tied up, but the original ideas are enough on their own for a game.

inheritance is fundamentally broken without encapsulation. if i inherit from a class, i can't define any new fields on my subclass without potentially overriding one of the fields of my superclass. like this is virtually unavoidable as long as superclasses can contain fields that are not part of their public API, and that i am allowed to accidentally override. this is just a fact

This is how you do redemption. Give a timeline to suss out their intent, give conditions for redemption, and follow through once conditions are met.

But then again, I never liked punishment as justice, I just want people to better themselves and for victims to be made whole again.

...and weeks passed. Then she approached me asking for forgiveness, she had pulled her head out her ass and left those toxic groups, but I can't quite trust her yet.

So, I told her that it will take a while before I could forgive her, that she needs to give me some space, and work on herself to detox from those spaces.

Amazingly, she did just that, and slowly I was able to forgive her, and also help her reintegrate into groups that had kicked her out.

Just to hammer this home, I have experience with this as the forgiver.

A while back, I have a friend who I had been trying to convince to leave the Raiders. She initially wouldn't, so after many years, I cut off contact with her. Her response was to stalk me, and commiserate with Altfurs who were trying to get me killed by potentially snitching to the CCP that I am trans. (They're not a smart bunch.)

Anyways, after that I declared her a lost cause...

I admit, it is hard to talk about this, because people too easily assume that because I refused to persecute someone for making an honest mistake, I was defending the erroneous action.

Quite the opposite, it is very important to outline the path to redemption, and its conditions. This is because keeping the guilty party perpetually so out of enforced uncertainty, will only teach them that doubling down and denial gives the best outcome.

the problem with compromise for dignity is that it's not a compromise, it's a betrayal even to yourself.

You yourself may not be one of the weird ones that "make us look bad" or whatever. Maybe you're proud of that. But you must realize that subscribing to the idea that you ought to adhere to some degree of "normal" to be respectable means you're making the agreement that you yourself should not be allowed that right of outlandishness.

Given how we were preyed on and persecuted by moral narcissists as we we were clawing our way out of Altfurry spaces 3 years ago, and how traumatic that experience was.

I get some vindictive satisfaction from seeing them crumple and back off as soon as the question of endgame is put on the table.

this may seem almost insultingly reductive of a complicated issue, but really it's the definition, i would argue.

i think that's actually a really big deal, because it clearly marks a turning point. once history is forgotten or distorted to the point that your sense of consequence is skewed, it destroys any context you can have for empathy. hi terfs!

or really, if you see overpopulation as a threat, you're far removed from any real sense of threat in your life

A: you're at risk on an existential level and need to be sure you can communicate without persecution

B: you're a fascist

C: you're afraid of being persecuted but not in any tangible way that poses a lasting effect or consequence for you or your life. because this definitely isn't secretly option B
