Politics

If there is one thing I keep noticing when talking politics with liberals, and particularly western european and american liberals, it's that they struggle to imaging how society would be structured when things change from the bottom up, ass opposed to the tradition, which is top-down.

Anarchy, socialism and communism are bottom up philosophies. It doesn't work by using the state apparatus to mandate social habits via systemic means, rather, any political structure that arises from those societies would be molded to fit the needs of the people.

Meet Lucina, formerly known as Lucifer. She's a motherly figure within the system who has an overwhelming unconditional aura of love. She's a hybrid of a squirrel/wolf/opossum and demon.

Part II: Riddick is better than Mass Effect cause it centers space prisoners and craps on space slave-catchers (police) and space world-police / space US military (the Necromongers). Also Star Wars + Starship Troopers glorified US imperialism to audiences whatever 'secret messages' they thought they had. Starcraft is a space-colonialism simulator.

If it involves a couple of hacky tricks, I don't care if your code solves the problem 6% faster.

Hardware scales and will improve over time. The human capacity of understanding and maintaining code does not.

There are always exceptions to the rule, but generally speaking:

clean code > performance.

It represents a refusal to play by society's rules in the face of massive intersectional oppression, which is a whole lotta meaning packed into just five letters.

I don't think "gay" is a bad word. It's just too narrow for me, it doesn't leave room for my genderqueerness, and it's not radical enough. Plus, if I'm being honest, because this is the kind of queer I am: It's just not nearly as stylish, sexy and cool as "queer" is to me.

Show thread

To me, "queer" means so much more than simply "LGBTQ+". It also carries with it the radical legacy of our history in a way that a word like "gay" just never could for me.

I'm not just gay. I'm queer, because I refuse to fit in, I refuse to conform, and I will fight oppression.

Plurality | Gender Identiry |

It's also interesting to see how Alyssa's gender identity is shaped by her world, because the whole idea of being gender casual is something that doesn't happen often in this world, particularly because of how often we had to fight for our own existence, both in terms of being alive, and recognized as our authentic selves.

Had Alyssa been raised in this world, she'd be gender-fluid, which tracks, since being gender casual is a form of fluidity.

Hey, you know this is something you have in common with Aluxes, Alyssa.

Alyssa: That appears to be the case. This makes a lot of sense considering xe was a part of Freyja before fae split.
