Basically, at the beginning of July, someone who Val really cares about deeply, and someone who Julayla once idolized, and who I'd like to reconnect with turned out to be a shit person. And that shit person is still harassing our family.

we should really talk more about how the concept of happiness and finding happiness is terrifying for anyone that's dealing with long standing depression, anxiety, body/ facial dysmorphia, gender dysphoria, etc.. just anything we deal with that has forced us to acclimate to misery as a daily part of life.

like, its not enough to stop at, "I don't think I can ever achieve __" and needs to expand into, "I am actively avoiding __ because I don't know who I am outside of this constant state/ because I don't know how to be happy/ because what if I mess up and lose it all" etc etc etc
