@qdot At this point, I'm hoping the core devs cut loose and open a Patreon or Kofi for themselves when they have enough distance to do so. I'd rather be supporting them directly.

The general rule for the rare spawns is they interleave with their older counterparts. So if you look at where your dex says Pikachu or Clefairy are, they should spawn there after a few region reloads.

Although the locations can be weird or inconsistent (as in a corner of the named area), and I kind of do recommend breaking out a guide if you can't find them after a few tries.

@qdot (The HiFi counterexample is especially ironic by the way, given recent moves and statements by Phil, but that's a whole other topic.)

@qdot Here's hoping when all this is done their software is at least salvageable or forked. And that this stands as an instructive lesson on why not to tie your ship to an unregulated market.

Inadvertently giving my mentee at work the advice I wish I'd gotten when I started my career.

Particularly the part where I might sound authoritative, but half the time I literally don't know what I'm doing and am just consulting primary sources and other folks to make an informed opinion. Not knowing stuff is normal, especially in fields that are highly technical.

I think it helped, and damn, I wish someone had told me that early on to help with imposter syndrome.

@qdot That said, if you don't enjoy the card game at all, maybe watch a video playthrough, since that will be the game's language throughout.

@qdot Need more playtime and possibly to explore more or fail a loop or two. The initial loop didn't grab me either, but it opens up a fair bit.

Pad is closed up for now. There are changes we'll make in revision 2 to make this wire together better, but it works!

Also realizing I called this PMD Arceus earlier, when it's PLA. Which... isn't wrong, since it's still an isekai.

@Leucrotta We're doing alright here, all things considered. Just not posting much on socials as much anymore in favor of hanging out with folks in Discord.

And yeah, this is a super fun build. When we're done, I'm probably going to write up a doc about it, since having to translate from a YouTube video and an inscrutable wiring diagram on GitHub made this harder to initially figure out than it needed to be.

... I admit to thoroughly having no idea what I'm doing when it comes to electrical circuits, so the fact this works at all is kind of a relief. @..@

So after using through our old hard pads and being constantly frustrated at nothing being available, we decided to build our own from this guide: https://youtu.be/y6wGYLE0YI4

Turns out this thing is way easier than expected once we got the materials assembled. Each sensor converts physical force into electrical resistance, and each analog channel reads that in and converts it to button presses at a given threshold.

And it works! Next is finish wiring and close it up.

@kat (In all seriousness, I wonder if they do this because it translates well and plays nicely with streamers of the game.)

Update: I finished my run of this successfully, and in celebration, named my Dodrio main "The Dekis" after @Vyzie

Item luck has been okay so far. I've still got a fair number of escapes and reviver seeds left, and a single ban seed waiting for an enemy Pokémon to try Earth Power (a high damage, room hitting move) on my team.

Which is to say, absent completely awful luck or completely spacing on how to play the game, this should be completable... maybe.
