For anyone wanting a usable team online and into postgame that doesn't want to spend time building it themselves, here's one I built that you can grab from Vs > Rental Teams.

It still needs some field testing and debugging on the defensive side, but it should be usable in Battle Tower and its online equivalents (and by folks on Shield that want to use Zacian).

@JulieSqveakaroo They're a rare(ish) spawn in the Sword version. They also have a high chance of dropping a good item. And folks love to receive them. 💜

This game is forcing me to release Pokemon since the maximum is 32 boxes, but I feel... a bit uncomfortable that I reinvented this pattern. >..>

@JulieSqveakaroo Amusingly, it is in this game. The flavor text points out that Trubbish are used to keep spaces in the game clean by recycling leftover waste.

They show up as hotel cleaning staff, too.

I've reached the point in the game where I have caught them all except for the other legendary and one other Pokemon, so I am finally organizing my boxes.

One of my boxes is now "Box o' Ditto", which is exactly what it says on the tin.

@technomancy @orrery Humans make a lot of mistakes, mind, but that's also part of the programming that keeps things stable. Not so for an AI with a perfect understanding of the wrong problem and infinite resources at its disposal.

@technomancy @orrery A corollary to this is that it's ethical and necessary to build and protect spaces that corporations cannot reach -- ie, spaces in service to humans instead of paperclip maximizers.

I think about this a lot in the context of Masto, re, why human administration just Does Better. And it's because its masters are different.

... which is a pretty compelling reason I will also hold out on dumb devices for as long as possible, sans my own tinkering with devices that I control.

@roguecnidarian Specifically, you can field "whatever.pokemon" through story, and the stuff they imported from Pokemon Go makes it trivial to level anything up or play in short bursts.

The hardest wall I've hit is figuring out my endgame team, and even there, you can rent prebuilt teams to just have fun with.

@roguecnidarian Currently, this one seems to be the best game in the series for busy people. So if that factors in, it's recommended.
