new zelda news
@chr Literally the most excited thing I was for in the trailer was seeing one of the dragons flying up in the skybox behind Link. (Also, realizing the new mechanics will make shield surfing rad as hell.)
game randomizers
@Dex Archipelago occasionally runs multiworld stress tests across their library of supported games, so the answer in that setting is going to be at least a dozen different games.
In the binary itself however, probably fewer, at least until some mad lad randos Super Mario All Stars or something. >..>
I got a lovely commission from @bupy ! And then, before I could color it myself, another friend, @Liizerd colored and shaded it for me!
I love this commission, I'm glad Ivy was willing to help me with experimenting with the coloring of my sona! I wanted to change the cream fur to a lighter green, to essentially just make my sona's color scheme just green and red!
I think it looks better! ^w^
social ~~vr~~, the decentraland documentary, meta's verse
@Dex Because if there's inherently nothing separating a creator from a bot (and there is, both psychologically and as a matter of process), it means they can throw money at the problem of being creative. And that helps them feel better about not finding their own spark or devoting any creative energy in their lives.
And I can see why they'd want to try using money to paper over that yawning void where their soul should be.
social ~~vr~~, the decentraland documentary, meta's verse
@Dex Part of what powers projects like this, I think, are when you peel back all of the layers of grift and techbro fiefdom nonsense, this is what creativity feels like to people who have never had a passion or artistic spark in their lives.
And while that's profoundly sad, it helps explain why their standards are so low, and why their expectations are so high for bots and ChatGPT generative babble to fill the space instead.

corporate ~~VR~~ virtual worlds, 2000s style
@Dex Heck, I was around the scene then and had completely memory holed There. Especially with IMVU and Lively trying much of the same model a few years later.
I also agree with the video, ignoring that these are playgrounds of identity is a fatal flaw for any virtual world project. Heck, even EVE Online has more of a sense of identity and place than There did or Meta Horizons does now.
When wearing the Ancestral Hat, you don't REALLY have to wear the robes to match. Take this fluffy dragon for instance, they only put on the hat cause the lining's fancy and it feels nice against their ears.
New OSRS art for the fluffiest of dragons, Helwyr Cywyr who flies over on Twitter! Thanks again!

@chr "But we can just wrap cmake in the IDE build process, right?"
"... but we can just wrap it... right?"
My condolences.
