Final Fantasy IX does a lot of things. Every single character is some kind of LGBTQIA+ metaphor, every story element serves to point out how the series had intended to create a loose narrative, and also Necron makes perfect sense in the context of the series as a whole, just not in the context of the game itself and that could have been better.
