Playing for a Domination Victory in Civ is so weird, since I'm used to just building forever and then getting a cultural victory by accident. It feels like military conquest forever is what the game was built for, though, because the game pace works better and has more interesting decisions to make in ongoing military campaigns.
Washington State Politics (sharing requested)
Those Fuckers are at it again: http://app.leg.wa.gov/billsummary?BillNumber=1011&Year=2017
I've already sent my comment. Please boost and send your comments to the legislature if you're in WA. We need to kill this shit again.
Sex, kinks, respect, and Midwestern passive-aggression(-)
@salameleon I would treat it as "an unfortunate confluence of events" and politely never bring it up again or engage with them on any sexual matters ever. That may not be a right response, though.
Sex, kinks, and respect (-)
@salameleon sounds like an awkward failure of the meme. Boundaries are appropriate to set but policing someone else's fantasies seems wrong. So what so you do when they have created a window to share them without context or scope, and so you get an honest view into something you'd rather not know about?
The prudent thing would have been a "sorry, it was something you aren't into", but then that sort of self-censorship is exactly what that thing isn't for.

How to fail at marketing:
"Better than cream cheese? NO."
kink musings
Aaagh why are my fetishes so fundamentally weird and arbitrary @..@
I mean, my interest in dragons feels totally normal to me, but the latex, plastic, inflation, size-queen-to-the-point-of-flagrant-impossibility, goo, balloons, etc. still seem arbitrary and undignified. The submissive streak and slight masochism makes a little more sense at least.
Most l of my interests are tactile or imagined-tactile. I'm very touch-centric. It still seems weird that I'm fixated on these things
$12 for Civ 6 at https://www.humblebundle.com/monthly - worth signing up, installing it, and cancelling the subscription for, IMO, for folks who don't already have Civ 6.
I'm sorry I didn't build enough housing in @KawaSeadrake but I'm building a granary now, I promise https://awoo.space/media/WFHB_CJqCTqmlwUv2rs
university, programming languages (-)
@KawaSeadrake @lizardsquid Yep, C is mostly used for embedded systems programming these days. C++ is a train wreck that is mostly used for performance sensitive systems where programmers believe they can out-optimize a garbage collected language without accidentally shooting themselves in the feet, which they are usually wrong about.
C is probably the purest way to learn (painfully) about pointers and the consequences of mishandling them.
At least I'll have my PS4 back in about a minute. It's almost done restoring from backup onto the SSD I just put in it.

@Jacel I love you very much. Travel safe.
@Jacel If you were Seattle, you can believe I'd be riding your Space Needle a lot more.
@Jacel Yourself?
And now back to the most of the year where I spend a lot of my time wishing @Jacel was here. I'll need help but I'll keep fighting my depression and anxiety, and Jacel will be back and I'll be able to share that with hir.
@Jacel You'll be back.
Please, can everyone in the software world can read that again and again and again.
