@KawaSeadrake Argued and lost as settled case law. Privately growing and consuming weed is apparently interstate commerce, which can be regulated. Commerce Clause has been used as a get-into-jail-free card for over sixty years. Growing your own wheat to feed your own livestock is covered so what isn't? https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wickard_v._Filburn
A more successful defense was made on "the budget allows $0 for prosecuting me. https://m.huffpost.com/us/entry/us_56265df9e4b08589ef48fee0 The $0 budget is the only thing there.
I'm glad @Jacel still likes me even though I cause hir severe static electric shocks whenever I hug hir on this couch this winter

They're boogers and the brain
Yes, boogers and the brain
One is a genius
The other is a heterogeneous mix of proteins, water, and congealed pus
Sick update
@vahnj The intersection between "I am sick" and "I don't want to use vacation days" is a lot of what is wrong with American health care
@anthracite does everybody in Seattle have the same mild sinus cold?
Sid Meier's Civilization (any edition) is a story about spending five thousand years building a robust and stable civilization, prepared and planning for a prosperous future and striving to build a utopia, then throwing it away in twenty years in a desperate effort to get the fuck off the planet and/or suddenly take it over violently.
It is unrealistic only in its optimism.
@Jacel THEY'RE MULTIPLYING
Happy 2018!
If you’re anything like me, you’ll soon feel that the holiday glow will soon begin to fade. The connections, joy, and support from the last couple of months will be replaced with the drudgery of the day-to-day.
We need to stick together and help each other deal with the cold, the routine, and the drop. We’re in this together. I’m here for you. Let me know how I can help.
Love and light. 💕
@vahnj No, once they're gone, they're gone. Better to harvest them than just drop a district on them, though. There's a late-game sweet spot when they're worth the most but are still useful (mostly production).
@vahnj Barbarian outposts only spawn outside of every civ's territory and vision, and the game gives up quickly if its attempt to spawn a new outpost fails, so barbarians drop off dramatically as civilizations expand; this is more pronounced on smaller maps b
@vahnj A corollary of the second point: if you are under attack by barbarians who keep re-scouting you, more tech Will Not Help because the next barbarian spawn will use it while you still have to build or buy defensive units.
Another one: your military tech advances in the ancient era put substantial pressure on every civ in the game even without any saber-rattling from you, because it makes their barbarians worse, not just yours. But don't study anything you aren't prepared to fight.
@vahnj oh btw the barbarians are brutal in civ 6, just fyi
More usefully:
* If a scout sees your city and gets either off your map or back to an outpost, 2 to 5 barbarians spawn against you
* Barbarians always have military tech equal to the strongest military tech of any major civ in your game, and also horses if they're near horses
* Barbarians are mostly your own pissed-off citizens; prioritize any luxury resource immediately to reduce barbarian pressure dramatically
also, somebody put a bunch of some kind of cereal, grains or something, out on the ground below my window, which is spurring two thoughts:
1. ducks are big
2. ducks taste good
