Watched pvgna.com videos on Clockwerk after repeatedly losing to Clockwerk picks, spent half an hour practicing double cog blocking the creeps. It’s effective-ish even when I don’t particularly get it right but I should definitely practice this more if I want to try Clockwerk. I’ve been spamming Crystal Maiden for a few weeks, time to try something new.

I'm still of the opinion that government should be like jury duty. Imposed, not strived for. Fixed term. Adequately compensated but not a means of manipulating your way into wealth and power for the rest of your life.

"So this is what Mastodon scalies are into"

Show thread

Browsing Netflix and discovered that one of the sci-fi books I read as a kid has apparently become a movie. Bruce Coville was one of my favorite authors when I was young, and I hope more of his stuff is adapted. I’ve flagged “Aliens Ate My Homework” to watch later, meanwhile.

An animation I commissioned from @fablepaint@twitter.com of Zenith being a swimmy noodle!

the result is absolutely incredible, I love him so much!

Confessions of an iPhone owner: i get jealous of Android home screen customization, I miss setting up my own PDA home screens like that

Three straight Ranked wins as Crystal Maiden in . Maybe I won’t calibrate into Herald after all. The DOTA Plus item build suggestions are hilariously bad for CM, though. Seriously, Daedalus?

Some part of me is convinced that a good name for a low-budget poorly-made board-game-themed ultraviolent horror movie would be “The Splatterers of Catan”

Viddy games...

I appreciate (seriously, I love it dearly) that you are re-releasing old NeoGeo, DataEast, Natsume, and other old arcade-era company ports onto modern systems. It totally brightens my mood when I see something treasured from my childhood become suddenly accessible.

If it's not to much to ask, can you please put some more obscure ones up that maybe didn't receive the love they deserved? I promise I'll keep picking them up!

Dota Plus: the team that wins is the one without the jungle Bristleback. :|

Condolences to the person running mastodon.rocks (which lost its database). I know that sinking feeling as you realize that something went wrong.

Let it be a serious reminder to everyone to have regular backups.

I've lost an entire VPS to Scaleway once, it wasn't even anything I did, their hardware just failed. Not having backups is living on the edge.

I graduated over a decade ago and I still have that recurring nightmare about coming up towards the end of a semester and realizing that due to depression and exhaustion I hadn’t been studying for one of my classes and had missed many of the lectures

mental health, a relative improvement

I need to stop trying to control other people’s behavior by trying to hide my needs and interests. I treat myself as though I have an obligation to be invisible and unnoticed so I don’t inadvertently affect people around me and “make” them spend time or energy trying to cater to my “whims”.

It’s hard to change the behavior because my internal value system is screwed up enough that this feels like “one of few things I do right”.

I have been in declining mental health since DST started and my thoughts and behavior have gotten increasingly self-destructive. I’ve been trying not to talk about it because people already have enough to deal with and they don’t need the whining of a privileged, entitled-feeling tech-bro in their face to go along with it. I should shut the fuck up and get back to work

The most difficult obstacle in PAC-Man CE 2 Plus for the Switch isn’t the ghosts, it’s the absurd level of framedropping when the game gets hectic. 2D game and a modern console can’t keep up. It also drops some on PC and PS4 as well, it’s not just the Switch; I assume it’s allocating a heap object for every goddamn dot and running a mark and sweep garbage collector five times a game

A friend made an excellent observation: Take the short title of any article from the spine of a National Geographic magazine and you have an amazing band name.

For example:
Dolphin Intelligence
African Pharaohs
Healing Soldiers
The Gender Issue
Hubble at 25
Food Trucks
Roman Shipwreck
Osprey
