All the walk-in clinics were closed and I couldn't remember when I'd last taken my shots, so as silly as it felt, talking to a triage nurse at the hospital seemed like the smart thing to do.

The doctor had me fill out a report for animal control types on the minute chance that the mouse had rabies, but said a tetanus shot would realistically be all I needed. The moral of the story: don't assume a tiny rodent can intuit your motives. Oh, and keep on top of your vaccination records.

Backstory: I met a super-friendly kitty while walking home and I heard a squeak while petting it.

I spotted a mouse (!) and tried to shoo it away while the kitty was distracted by my headpats. The mouse didn't appreciate my gesture and latched onto my finger. 😓
