That's also a real interesting thesis there, that this was indirectly what pushed Japan into imperialism. Especially in light of the recent saber-rattling against Iran, I wonder how much of the other shit we're in today could have been avoided if we'd just showing some fucking moral backbone. (*cough*mohammedrezashah*cough*)

@zebratron2084 grr. I had no clue that he’d done his own bit to further the “carving up of the melon” as a negotiation in this. I know that the “Red Summer” was 1919, and that *wasn’t* the south but supposedly Wilson tried to mitigate things; I wonder if that was all tied together?
