Also note that one of the major causes of Wilson's behavior was the SAME FUCKING BULLSHIT AS TODAY, the fact he didn't want to piss off racist Southern Democrats (who were basically modern Republicans for all intents and purposes)...

@Phorm Yeah, me too. I do actually have some hope to share on that topic-- basically, that this could be a neurologically, or even mathematically, solvable problem in the grand scheme of things-- but that'll probably have to be for a day when I'm less... dim.

@zebratron2084 grr. I had no clue that he’d done his own bit to further the “carving up of the melon” as a negotiation in this. I know that the “Red Summer” was 1919, and that *wasn’t* the south but supposedly Wilson tried to mitigate things; I wonder if that was all tied together?
