music, roommates, neurodiversity

My ADHD-tail will always be in complete awe at how @teez manages to work while listening to like ~200 bpm hardcore playing. I mean, i am impressed when i can get anything done with ambient music playing

re: music, roommates, neurodiversity

@Oneironott @teez@snouts.online See, I *can't* work in total silence, it would drive me crazy! I usually either have some TV show playing in the background that I've seen a million times before and doesn't require a lot of attention, or an album I'm familiar with.

Back in college when I had an essay due the next morning, I'd just take my 5-CD changer (fuck I'm old) and play all 5 TMBG albums from start to finish while I worked, over and over, until I was done...

@zebratron2084 @teez i usually listen to something lower tempo and generally can't stand working in silence either but the idea of listening to high bpm 'go go go' music makes my brain scream lol

re: music, roommates, neurodiversity

@Oneironott @zebratron2084 I mean half the time, I pretty much need something pretty high-energy to keep the pace going tbh. Something I can get in sync to while working on stuff, basically; sometimes that includes relatively slow 'n sparse witch house or Belgian New Beat, other times it's >200 BPM gabber, breakcore or darkpsy, lmao.

@Thaminga @Oneironott @zebratron2084 I like a mix of music, but prefer faster paced stuff I think because I listened to faster classical music as a kid, and can do fairly silent settings for a while too. turns out THE thing I can’t do is coworkers’ talk radio and some conversations.
