re: coyote sing along hour
I'm not frightened of dying. Any time will do, if you don't mind. Why should I be frightened of dying? There's no reason for it, you've got to go sometime.
(I always imagined the speaker being a hobbit.)
coyote sing along hour
so you run and you run to catch up to the sun but it's sinking
and racing around to come up behind you again
the sun is the same, in a relative way, but you're older
and shorter of breath
and one day closer to death
every year is getting shorter, never seem to find the time
plans that either come to naught or half a page of scribbled lines
hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way
the time is gone
the song is over
I thought I'd so much more to say
home
home again
I like to be here when I can
when I come home cold and tired
it's good to warm my bones besides the fire
far away, across the fields,
the tolling of the iron bells
calls the faithful to their knees
to hear the softly spoken magic spells
@Kusimanse the few wide stripes indicate that it's a Grevy's donut
Even the racism maps (the enemy armies contain Okinawan pirates and southern elephant riders)! It’s wuxia! I was so caught up in Europe I hadn’t figured it out.
It took looking at fanart with East Asian features for me to realize that LotR is a Chinese story! Okay SO there are Taoist immortals aiding the people of the Middle Kingdom; one of them turns evil, destroying a delicate balance of power; a rough and tumble rural warrior, wielding a reforged ancestral blade, joins forces with a Confucian scholar, his cousins and manservant; they rescue the greatest city with an army of despised northern horse-archers and honor-bound dead men.
@eredien @frostwolf Oh! Earlier this evening I was in one of my periodic "I just don't fit in with these people, I'm not really wanted here" moods.
@fairydoctor420 the movie’s version is something like “great vengeance and furious anger on those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers.” It’s been a while.
@fairydoctor420 shit it’s 25:17!
@fairydoctor420 I vaguely remember the movie’s version mixes the actual quote with something else. The soundtrack had that clip right at the end after Surf Rider.

inspired by the YouTube comment about "well music [from the 60s] used to tell stories"
nowwwwww
here's a little story I'd like to tell
about three bad brothers y'know so well
it started way back in history
with me, MCA, and me (Mike D!)
I had a little horsie named Paul Revere
me and my horsie and a quart of beer
ridin' cross the land, kickin' up sand
sherriff's posse on my tail 'cause I'm in demand
one lone beast-i-ee I be
all by myself without nobody
the sun is beatin' down on my baseball hat
the air is hot and still. the beer is gettin' flat
lookin' for a girl, I ran into a guy
his name is MCA, I say "howdy" he says "hi!"
Lots of random gunk, but some drawings and cooking talk too. Obsesses about DnD and related topics. Left-leaning/profoundly frustrated politics. Black lives matter; trans rights are human rights.
