Anyway I wished her a happy Mother’s Day, which impacted like a 37 mm round hitting Panther glacis armor, but ehhh. Had to do it.

I was already thinking of making cu pi dou fu, now that I know how to do this, but someone's slice-of-life comic REALLY got me thinking that direction.

Since I'm up thanks to acid reflux etc, my REALLY hot gaming take is; D&D is full of wonderful settings which don't really match its default style for ancestries and combat. I'm not necessarily sure which system would best match the "feel" of Ravenloft, Dark Sun, Eberron and possibly Planescape.

@electrickeet Yes, I'd thought you knew about it which is why I didn't say anything earlier; sorry about that.

It was unusually active and visible from 2200-0200 (I had good luck around 2300) Friday, but might be visible today (Saturday) as well. Seattle definitely has light pollution and the colors aren't as clear to naked eye as with a phone camera, but it shows up mostly as distinctly lighter areas of sky which don't match to clouds.

Went to the nearest park, and once I got past the really REALLY bright lights there the aurora was far more obvious. The colors and shifts in it were far less obvious without the camera, but I could still see them. I decided against walking to 7-11 and by the time I got back to my apartment it was largely no longer visible from my apartment - so I think it really was most visible from here at 10:50-11:30.

Okay, I can *kinda* see it from here if I look due north - first time I spotted it was a VERY slight distort, it seems to have been more active about 5-10 minutes ago, I initially thought I was seeing the milky way which would be pretty unusual here. I can pick up on some green with naked eye but this is all WAY more vivid with iPhone camera, which sadly doesn't take great photos tho I told myself I wouldn't photograph if I saw it, hopefully I haven't messed up

@Ylfingr why not; open the new bag, use some of it, dump the remains of the old one in on top?

Lately I've been getting hit more often by the realization that my buttons are being pressed and naturally I feel MISERABLE,

such that not only might reality be a lot less obnoxious (just harsh),

but also, for most of 18 years my buttons were being pressed ALL THE DAMN TIME, this recursive loop of bullshit which made it impossible to feel like I had a chance of ever getting anything better, enough that horrible self hate was enough of an explanation/distraction that it actually FELT BETTER.

Earlier today I was looking at an old Dragon magazine while on the pot and confused an illustration of a wizard with a bracer on his raised arm, to be a wizard wearing an elaborate, Seussian hat.

I thought, maybe D&D needs more weird hats? then realized that’s a slippery slope leading to Dark Sun.
