@frost Old movie, from the 80s. I liked it, anyway. There's a musical number where the goblin king sings to the child he's abducted (and is going to turn into a goblin).

this in turn gets me to the goblin songs in the Rankin-Bass "The Hobbit"

and again, I love how most of the songs in that movie are happy "let's play hackey sack on the Diag then see if Truth House has that tofu salad I like", and then the goblins show up and their songs are all "OH YEAH FLOGGING"

and then in this ad for baby food this woman kept saying "my baby" and obviously this is the cue to listen to Dance Magic Dance again

one of my favorite just weird random facts is how Julius Fucik's "Entry of the Gladiators" got associated with clowns. For a while it was a cue to alert circus folks that something had gone wrong without alerting the audience, and in that case the clowns would come out and do their thing for as long as it took to get stuff back under control. (This might not be true but I like the idea.)

@Chip_Unicorn I think they should make one with Orca. Her super thing is literally that she's an orca which I think gives her a lot of depth, I don't just want a movie about her so I can have lurid sexual fantasies.

@Cheff I checked the recipe for bun bo hue, and it includes a lot of ingredients which I've never used before (and which are probably part of why a bowl of it would cost $16 - so I guess it's $20 with tax and tip, maybe more, not $18). So I think this is definitely a thing for a special occasion sometime.

This is a really SPECIFIC hyperfocus nerd gripe;

There’s been all these Aliens films since the first four but none with the USCM, and the hyperfocus part is, if the Colonial Marines are essentially Vietnam era in space, I really want to see whatever’s their equivalent to an M50 Ontos.

Yesterday’s #drawing. Inspired by Wargames Atlantic’s werewolves, I wanted to try more Hollywood style part bareskinned werewolves. I now think the feet should be five toed - there’s just too much muscle on a human’s big toe for it to absorb/become a dewclaw.
