@Bwee That's a great story! And it took me *years* to realize that if I actually wanted something that either I shouldn't tell my Dad at all, or I should tell him after it's too late for him to convince me I'll fail completely, so you're definitely several steps ahead of me.
after a while all the desires blend into each other. The late night drive, the hotel room, the con, the shared space during a rainstorm or bad movie, cooler weather, being pretty, the beach.
It's all essentially about existing in your own space, exploring your own space, being loved as yourself, instead of having to rush at an exact schedule or at any moment for what someone else thinks is necessary and vital, which is kinda ironic considering that everyone's interconnected and compromises.
#subpost trust me if it's 40K lore, you're only getting like 20% of it because unless the person telling you is INCREDIBLY hyperfocused they've only got 80%. The average Warhammer player/fan/employee knows maybe like 60% of the ginormous semicoherent sprawl that is 40K canon.
like f'rex only recently did I learn Ursukar Creed is currently Fabius Bile's war trophy after the fall of Cadia and THERE IS LITERALLY NO REASON you would ever need to know this to paint or play 40K.
so
when we slew a bulette, I got one of its scales as a trophy. Since I recently multiclassed into barbarian, the +2 bonus of having a shield and no other armor makes up for no longer wearing chainmail. We're at the trade fair, where there's a blacksmith who'd convert it to a shield, BUT for 50 GP.
there is a wrestling competition where I could win that money. And as long as we're doing this I want to do this right, and with an NPC's help, I'm getting a mask made.
SOY LA ORCO VERDE!
@Kusimanse Thank you! I know as an Old I'm supposed to grouse about all the new stuff in D&D, but honestly I really *like* most new PC races a lot (even if they come with a surfeit of horns you can't easily fit under helmets, cloaks or hats).
@Tuftears Thanks! Will hopefully get more time to slap colors on stuff, soon.
@Tuftears Thanks! I feel like doing cell shaded stuff with a little bit of extra highlighting might be a good match for really pushing on line art.
Lots of random gunk, but some drawings and cooking talk too. Obsesses about DnD and related topics. Left-leaning/profoundly frustrated politics. Black lives matter; trans rights are human rights.
