@frost Can't do much rn, I'm in the middle of job hunting, In ab hour or two I should be able to wrap it up and chill out.

Then I realized if the combination of things made me feel so completely awful, that's almost ASSUREDLY something specific hitting buttons from high school or earlier.

@owashii@plush.city @Bwee 1) apparently he has some sort of hangup about Xs, since he wanted to rename PayPal X before Thiel bought it.

2) their spokesperson was on about how wonderful it's gonna be thanks to AI, which is a cold shower with extra bleach.

3) I don't know if I qualify as user base that's decent, but it's been hard to abandon Twitter. But renaming it really makes it feel like some rich dude's get-richer scheme/political echo chamber rather than an online place to exchange information.

@Bwee Posted them earlier, and will boost! This wasn't a big overall change in direction, this was one of those "I sit down to draw and here's the part that really interests me today."

@fairydoctor420 It is really great. When I was a kid other countries were exotic places, and it took travel to run into conversations in something other than English or Spanish. Now? When I have insomnia I run into people in Europe and Australia who aren't really different from me, and run into all sorts of awesome languages I can't even come close to speaking.

#drawing today started with big ambitions ideas and it turned out what I actually wanted to do was draw anatomy and faces. So; night hag in walking cauldron, chained angel, and a satyr. Artistic nudity in the literal sense (no clothes drawn because I was figuring out where everything was).

listening to really sentimental Yiddish songs while drawing space undead and chained angels and lizardfolk amargasaurus riders and stuff, you know, normal Sunday activity

they have a big mirror over the table so they can watch themselves playing D&D, carefully positioned so that you can't just look up and see what the DM's rolling. Real fancy.

and again, the simple dualism which appeals to people and more when things get stressy, means what's actually "I am simultaneously a smart, competent, functioning adult AND an unmotivated anxious mess with weird kinks that embarrass me, past attempts to get The Good Life which utterly tanked, and fewer and fewer years left" parses more as an OR.
