@TheDailyBurble 60s and natively French? Suggests stuff related to Algerian independence.
@ziphi *Brooklyn accent* So what exactly are you implying here, is there some sorta issue with that?
@TheDailyBurble in my experience, all it takes is a small amount of negative experiences particularly if intense to suddenly do sweeping generalizations as some sort of fucky attempt at self defense. Easy misunderstanding given how little harm out there in the world is intentional. Logically even a narrowly defined group (eg BMW drivers) can’t possibly be 100% vicious assholes, and that definitely can’t possibly be true the more vaguely you define a group (eg anyone religious).
festive holiday shitpost, all caps
the best part of A Christmas Carol is when Scrooge is cornered by the Ghost of Christmas Future who says COME NOT BETWEEN THE NAZGUL AND HIS PREY ELSE HE SHALL TAKE THEE AWAY TO THE HOUSE OF LAMENTATION and then Dernhelm says BUT NO MAN AM I! EOWYN, EORWAX'S DAUGHTER AM I! and her sword goes shinggg
@anthracite Do you remember Gulf War I at all? I protested Gulf War II, which was really REALLY obviously us just wanting some sort of insane national dopamine hit
My Dad helped me out with the gap in being paid, and then I had a coyote idea.
I didn't just go food shopping; I found a lot of pork on sale, and bought vegetables. I pre-chopped onion and pepper for and put some of the pork up to marinate for stir fry later, cut up and bagged the remaining pork. I also cut up sweet potatoes and brussels sprouts and roasted those for later. Last I finally got around to making myself very late breakfast. So now I have like NO motivation.
@Charlotte I missed a lot of it because I was desperately trying to be a good student at the time - I went to one rally in support of Israel (then being attacked as an attempt to pull pan-Arab sentiment) and that was it, my career protesting wasn't till later.
At the time I was also still coming out of a really conservative place, so even though *I* opposed the war and didn't like the fap fantasy, I parsed the media's INCREDIBLY hawkish coverage as normal. 30 years on, I'm shocked by it.
@Charlotte no particular go to class - I love clerics, rangers and bards, but 5e is not kind to rangers and I was really loving rogue for a while. But halflings with their DEX and CHA bonuses are definitely my thing.
Lots of random gunk, but some drawings and cooking talk too. Obsesses about DnD and related topics. Left-leaning/profoundly frustrated politics. Black lives matter; trans rights are human rights.
