yelling about YouTube ad anachronisms, all caps
THE FUCK? AN ACHAEAN SOLDIER WEARING A FUCKING LORICA SEGMENTATA, DUMBASS MUSCLE CUIRASSES ON THE TROJANS, AND SAYING HE HAS A DELIVERY FOR ATHENA (BUT NOT APHRODITE)? I mean yeah I know selling Oreos not exactly Aegean snack food BUT STILL FUCK YOU FUCK YOU
dream last night
I finally realized that if I REALLY needed the bathroom I could spend my break on this - some coworkers were talking to each other - and the next floor down was a wedding, but I snuck past on the stairs, found there was a huge gate mostly closing off the wedding (it'd be nigh impossible to get in anyway), got to the next floor, snuck past the singers (all Black, in contrast to the very white wedding guests), and there off to the side was this little shower/bathroom with wood paneling.
I finally managed to get it to lock and I was on the pot taking a shit when one of my coworkers UNLOCKED IT and walked in intending to use it, and she apologized and asked me to bring something back up to the third floor when I was done.
wanted to journal it since this is just every feeling of being someone else's convenience/being shut off percolating into my subconscious.
@frost It's been pretty good! Most museums here are free first Thursday of each month so timing means I rarely get to go (pricey otherwise). So I went to the Art Museum, and after about 3 hours I noticed I hadn't eaten anything yet - so I went to the Pike Place Market, found the place I really wanted to eat at was remodeling (but they're still around!), ate a GIANT curry beef bun from Mee Sum Pastry, went home.
It was a pretty good day after that and I'm actually probably about to sleep soon.
I realize these are probably not the sort of #drawings you’d think would come out of a trip to the art museum and facing body image issues, but it’s what was on my mind.
Something I really find interesting is comparing Calder to Miro here. In Miro's art, lines are VERY intentional. But in Calder's, wires are both lines which form a vital part of the composition, AND they serve almost like a puppeteer; vital to move big blocks of colored shape while being invisible in a sense.
I was really struck by this Calder painting where the portrayal of forms physically joined together or overlapping suggests that is something he found interesting in his mobiles/stabiles. And by the small models which let him loosely figure out composition and balance; I figure the payoff of a largely unpredictable artwork balanced out the need to plan meticulously.
crap. I managed to space copy pasting the description from a different SM site; anyway all these are charcoal drawings by Jaune Quick-To-See Smith.
@CoyoteTraveller thanks!
@Kusimanse This is *mostly* face and some hair, but I notice my brain spews out well, I'm not a natural 10, better give up on;
latex/spandex, dresses, shaving my body hair, getting laid in general, anything that qualifies as weird kink, and fursuiting (that's a big HUH?)
Lots of random gunk, but some drawings and cooking talk too. Obsesses about DnD and related topics. Left-leaning/profoundly frustrated politics. Black lives matter; trans rights are human rights.
