Interview 2 down. I REALLY like this one and the interview lasted 30 minutes so maybe I did okay, and now no matter what else happens I feel shaken and weepy. Maybe I should get another food thing.

@frost it’ll happen! When it does it’ll be intimidating and crummy but then you’ll know what it feels like and you can brace for it, or recover from it faster.

@obscurestar I hadn’t thought about that. Instead (and probably related) I’d basically seen it as an emblem of authority (sorta like carrying a sidearm was perceived by South Vietnamese); “I am the good person who holds power and that power’s symbolized by my right to inflict hurt.” So the message was less about “I can do this because you can’t stop me” and more “become a good person with power and you too will be granted the ability to hurt without it being questioned.”

Interview 1 down. Didn’t read like I bombed it - in fact I managed to get “this applicant is funny and easy to be around” responses- but I also don’t think I aced it, either, because it was on the shorter side.

I'll do these job interviews, and then sometime later in the evening I'll have a half edible and listen to music.

wow the actual video for Stealing Sheep's "Shut Eye" is NOT in fact about a coyote nearly being trapped in a town of the dead and escaping only by sheer luck on a passing steam train. As such it's a lot less appealing.

Found a recipe for cu pi dou fu online and made it to get this tofu out of my fridge. Was surprised by how easy it was to bread with corn starch but difficult to dredge.

Among other reasons I need a job soon is it’s an excuse to avoid Seder with my parents, an unusually grim prospect. If I ever get a place big enough I’m gonna have an incredibly Queer Seder. Lots of folks but NO straights. I mean it’d be nice to do the whole basically kosher l’pesach thing days too.

so far today I woke up, started job hunt stuff and filed this week's UI stuff, did a phone screen and more job hunt stuff, set up a second interview tomorrow, even more job hunt stuff, filled out application on company site (not Indeed) as requested by phone interviewer.

so I feel really DONE rn.

you know, I'd be all in favor of riots in the street to protest the sheer consolidation then overreach of power by right wingers if I weren't also pretty certain invariably it'd play out as antisemitism, anti-Asian sentiment, or both.
