okay I am now finally eating this tarragon chicken with Jerusalem artichokes from the Ottolenghi cookbook

and I'm really enjoying the shallots, the chicken is kinda a nice extra, and tbh Jerusalem artichokes are so much effort for crunch that no, I'm not using 'em again.

#drawing yesterday

I was hiking up a hill and feeling a little beat down around 5:30 when suddenly I thought maybe the drowsiness and low mood might be histamine release from having had two vaccinations yesterday. If that's what's doing this, I really hope another night of sleep will get me back to "normal."

if I have to be up in the middle of the night listening to noise and trying to calm down from someone deciding they have a right to determine how I live in my free time, I'm gonna see if this Tinariwen album is better on a half edible.

update, I went upstairs and knocked on their door at 1 and, probably because their room is a distance from the front door and they have their TV's volume up - no answer. This really presses my buttons and I'm pondering calling the pigs NOW, or more gentle, having a half edible and leaving a polite request under their door later.

wow, I'm so happy my upstairs neighbors are the only people in the world. Silly me thinking there might be someone below them who wouldn't enjoy their loud television upon waking at 12:30

a certain amount of ACCEPTING your enemy, that you don't need to love the fucker just peaceably coexist with him and vice versa, b/c neither of you know the whole story, can last a lot longer. Frankly I think that's the ideal.

cooking tonight; used up the 10 pack of chicken thighs with 2 set aside, 4 as soy sauce chicken, 4 marinating for the Ottolenghi recipe. Put up pork to marinate for Szechuan crispy pork. Made hot and sour cabbage for dinner along with one of the soy sauce thighs.
