Something truly exhausting about 2018 is how it seems like anything "reasonable" sounding might be support for unsustainable and irrationally cruel situations we all live with.

And at some point, someone pulls enough egregious bullshit, you're within reason going look, this person's NOT gonna stop pulling egregious bullshit. There's room for self-preservation in this world.

"Accept that people are more nuanced than good vs evil" is wise, but when it comes from Jordan Peterson, my next question is "who are you trying to exonerate; why is that; and would you be saying the same thing if they were some group that aren't your fanbase, 'cause my guess is NO."

Y'know, there's a time to talk about how all people have capacity for great good and evil, how it's not that easy, etc, etc. And I really WANT to believe the alt right, fundies, MRA and MAGAs are redeemable, certainly I want them to benefit from a system which is kinder and better than what we have now.

But the thing is, whether *they're* innately evil or not doesn't matter, what matters is they're *doing* evil shit, *pushing* evil shit and *believing* in evil shit 300%.

damnit everything right now feels either heartbreaking or aggravating, like I really want to hug onto a cute stuffed animal or pet a cat, or I want to repeatedly punch someone.

I dream of a society in which everyone's more or less middle class, but I realize that we're probably going to always have rich and poor people. What I don't get is a society with a tiny number of ultra-super-infra-uber-rich people who don't seem innately smarter or better than the average one of us scrabbling for existence here.

a batch of huge negativity has been countered by thinking of how wanted I am sometimes, by some people. I feel warmed and comforted enough to simply feel sandbagged and out of energy. Hope I can sleep okay.
