Something that bothers me with US politics looking bleak;

When Germany went full fascist, they were still a fairly NEW country and their entry into imperialism was pretty late, despite all the Nazi appeals to historicity. By contrast we’re very much a fallen empire rooted in anti-Blackness, anti-immigrant sentiment, a rugged individual myth which Germans don’t have, and outside fashy interests really pulling strings to get our domestic shit into office. Tbh I think we’re way more susceptible.

Debating naming any warforged I play after German materiel. Like for instance Sturmpanzer Brummbär (“Brumm” for short) the paladin, and her companion, the cleric Leichte Spähpanzer.

Lately autocorrect has been capitalizing everything. This means my Shitposts take on the Portentous Game Jargon appearance of old school White Wolf games.

I suddenly realized that there’s no toggle switch where you’re committed to a happy ending. Instead life rolls along and what keeps you pushing through current bullshit is a sense of there being a long term, and what keeps you looking back with smiles rather than regret are memories. Which is okay! It’s just as someone with CPTSD neither long term planning nor memory are my strengths.

I am not really sure what happened, but my cortisol levels were terrible last night - there were places where I could really feel the anxiety creeping up - and I kept waking up, I feel like I slept in <1 hour increments the whole time.

this isn't being a great night as far as sleep goes. I really *should* have had an edible when timing was better, earlier.

1. however good an artist I am gets easily confused with

2. not making money from my art, which mostly beating myself up for not being smart and brave enough to successfully push to make tons on art for bucks, mixed with running into fear of not making enough money

3, none of which is really going to be something I figure out while dealing with bad acid reflux at 0200

Oh yeah it's my favorite Garmarna tracks! "Dodens Fikarast,""Varfor ar Gud Tyst?" and "Lille Kristin var Mycket Deprimerad."

Today’s mostly been ass, so I’m clinging to the parts which weren’t. It might be time for a routine low orbit maintenance mission for the Coyote Space Agency later, if you know what I mean.

Went to local cafe/outdoors space and someone’s kid was screaming and making noise enough it carried, outdoors and despite being near a fountain, it stressed me out for around an hour of trying to draw, before I went this is not gonna get better, and I noped out.

Apparently in this time of energy and climate crisis Britain’s new Energy Secretary was either created by Charles Dickens or possibly Terry Jones, you don’t get more British than that to be fair.

A DJs exuberance about how wonderfully sunny and clear it’s gonna be got me to switch stations and luckily there was a cover of a Cure song on the station I swapped to!

don't want to go to work, they posted, like nearly everyone else returning from the long weekend

"when did Americans lose their British accents?" since I came over when I was very young and both my parents are Americans, pretty much immediately in my case.

ooorgh. I'm having another "could sleep through the battle of Kursk going on in the next room and then three hours later I'm VERY AWAKE" night.

Images, fantasy creatures

Some of what I worked on today, inked a horseman about to be ambushed by drow assassins; a tanuki and doppelgänger; elf cavalier versus goblin billman; four kobolds with different professions.

Trying to read actual fiction for the first time in literally years. So far Harrow the Ninth is right at the edge of being too clever by half in a way that would send me scurrying for wargames magazines or WWII bombers, but it’s not quite there yet.

It’s a horrifying fact of our current existence that ultimately the ability to make art for money - unless you got very lucky with family/partner - is essentially in the hands of landlords. And if *they* have any ability in or appreciation of visual arts it’s completely unknown.

If you have a "wah" or "wah wah" pedal hooked up to your guitar, a red panda will come out and roll around or eat bamboo or something as you play. Since everyone finds that adorable, most guitarists think it's sort of a cheap shot.
