Actually generation stuff wise, I’m currently feeling a lot more accepting of Gen X being rebranded as “elder Millenials” or w/e.
Thinking of Boomers and how the 45-50 set are oldest kids, school systems scrambling to figure out how to handle extra kids, guys who landed at Da Nang sure they were fighting for something important etc. Very different from the 55-70 set.
And if that’s true why not lump GenX - kinda the test case for college debt, PCs and blame throwing - in with a larger group?
... also 3 am is probably not a productive time to ask the question "where am I going with my art"? Includes "do I *really* want to work in color that much or do I just feel that's what everyone wants?" (answer; it's a bit of both).
1) I'm having another "could sleep through the battle of Kursk next door for three hours but now I'm AWAKE!!1!" nights
2) I wish I could afford an actual vacation. This wouldn't need to be elaborate in length or nature, just it'd be nice to do something.
3) I kinda wish I could skip work for no particular reason, just to play hookey.
4) It feels like somehow I managed to not have *most* of the furry fandom kinks.

Yep. It's time for the Furry Cockworship Theme Tune again.

coyote sing along hour, GWAR, potty humor
Each virgin sacrifice speaks these magic words
Just jiggle the handle! Let flow go the turds!
"AHHH! Here it comes baby, Ah'm droppin' mah load!
Ah ain't just up on it, Ah AM th' commode!"
The power of the toilet must never be abused!
He must be sponged, he must be plunged, lest carnage shall ensue
If a dead sheep were to clog him, who knows what would arise?
Maybe he'd summon the Master. Wouldn't *that* be a surprise?

looking for work
Hello fedi, as I'm looking for work, would you please lend me a hand and spread the word?
In short, I can do Chinese--English / English--Chinese translations. And I'm pretty good at it.
I used to translate for the New York Times. After getting my PhD in physics, I worked for the publisher SpringerNature as an editor, but my experience there only further radicalised me against the unethical practice of "academic publishing", and I quitted.
My career in science also saw me accumulating 15+ years' experience with C/C++/Python, contributing to projects such as scipy, numpy, etc. That made me a decent tech writer of documentations, too.
I actually quite enjoy translating -- so much so that I have a page set up for that -> https://ko-fi.com/post/Index-to-the-poems-live-document-O5O6EPXJY
Samples are available on request. I am capable of most commercial translation projects in Chinese/English. In my spare time, my language skills are further honed by my Ukrainian/Russian/French/Sanskrit/Old English projects.
Okay so looking up details of Lombard helmets gets me to the Broe helmet. Some of the other fragments in the grave include part of a “ring sword” - I’ve seen these but never known the name for the type. Okay BUT Wikipedia also gives Migration Period words for swords, including what might’ve entered Slavic languages as a loan word and is familiar to me as Russian Меч. Okay cool but also I hadn’t previously thought, the biologist L David Mech? That’s where the last name comes from.
Lots of random gunk, but some drawings and cooking talk too. Obsesses about DnD and related topics. Left-leaning/profoundly frustrated politics. Black lives matter; trans rights are human rights.
