KEXP introduced me to “Eggs and Sausage in a Cadillac with Susan Michelson” which I could instantly tell was Tom Waits despite sounding younger. Looking up the song I can easily imagine older Tom doing the exact same lyrics with *completely* different instrumentals and mood. It’s weird that Tom is actually a few years younger than my parents rather than several decades older.

listening to The Battle of Evermore again, before bed, it's quickly become pretty much a favorite song

violence, urine, caps, Zappa lyrics

and I scooped up a handful of the deadly YELLOW SNOW!
The deadly yellow snow from right there where the huskies go!
And I proceeded to rub it into his beady little eyes with a vigorous circular motion
hitherto unknown in this vicinity
but destined to take the place of the mudshark in your mythology
here it comes now
the vigorous circular motion, RUB IT!
* really good instrumental, only long enough to reach for a bong but not quite long enough to actually hit it*
And then in a fit of anger I pounced! And I pounced again!
GREAT GOOGLEY MOOGLEY!

well right about that time people
a fur trapper who was strictly from commercial (strictly commercial!)
had the unmitigated audacity to jump up from behind my iglu (peek a boo!)
and he started whippin' on my favorite baby seal with a lead filled snowshoe!

And when I'm sipping on a Perrier
in some cafe down in St. Tropez
it's hard to keep the fans at bay!
They say, sign my poodle, s'il-vous plait?
Sign my poodle, s'il-vous plait?
Poodle! Poodle!
*instrumental, but it's not nearly long enough, darnit*

it's Listen to Music From Hook and Feel Bad About How Rob Punched Out time, ayuh

Images, fantasy creatures, human, eye contact

today, player character with an electrified weapon, and a werewolf (some little doodles of trying to explain hair). And two dragons!

Kinda passively suicidal- no plans or real desires, just wouldn’t mind dying rn- and since death won’t conveniently show up I think I’m gonna get breakfast out.

Ideation

One of those days I’m not actually upset but the thought “there’s nothing really to look forward to, death would be a mercy” is real close to the surface, do you ever get that?

I hate to diss Dr Seuss (I have no such reverence for Dickens or any other 19th century novelist, Tolstoy I’d back down for) but frankly they’re uncomfortable stories about an uncomfortable holiday which only worsens an uncomfortable season.

Show thread

Also now that this rotten holiday is over I want to diss the season’s literature;
The Grinch hating Christmas is just a phase which changes when his neighbors are happy without all the accessories and accept him (both unrealistic). Are they gonna make less noise next Christmas because he now likes the holiday?
Scrooge’s hate on is part of/proves he’s a rotten person, corrected like every other bit of it through basically divine coercion, he wouldn’t change without threats of death and damnation.

Not everything *is* bleak, but enough *looks* bleak that learned hopelessness and dualistic thinking takes it the rest of the way.

the only things I could say to this person earnestly playing with Stable Diffusion would be incredibly mean. Trying to tell myself that they're honestly enjoying the feel of making stuff as well as the attention they get for having made stuff and they don't need their hobby pissed on.

Images, fantasy creatures, eye contact, undead

from today or finished today. Two undead (a misshapen “cursed” and a once noble skeleton warrior), a fire giant smashes her axes against a sheltering northman, tiefling caster faces another mage who wears a Cloak of Displacement, and a knight/noble vampire rides down a more savage nosferatu type.

that's not how you make a saber pattern welded swords don't work that way gah every time I see this part of the movie I strongly debate stopping it

The Thirteenth Warrior movie quote, Havamal quote in all caps

"You couldn't even keep a cow out of this place."

I SAW A RICH MAN'S HEARTH BURNING BRIGHT
WITH A COLD CORPSE OUTSIDE THE DOOR
IT'S BETTER TO BE ALIVE
THE LIVING CAN KEEP A COW

argh it's one of the many parts of The Thirteenth Warrior that drives me buggy

of COURSE he can draw sounds and speak them back, so can you! The Allfather offered himself to himself for nine days and nights so you guys could write stuff down.

and a little middle eastern motif plays whenever something middle eastern happens!

* drinks some mint tea *
* little qunun leitmotif *
* eats some date mahmoul *
* women ululating *
