As more musical background;

I grew up with access to either my Dad's mostly-classical music, or whatever was on the top 40s stations. This didn't include what kids were SUPPOSED to listen to (as indicated by bullying) - namely, COOL bands. Like Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, AC/DC and uh... Led Zeppelin?

Anyway, growing older, Priest and AC/DC largely aren't my thing, but I'm delighted that Maiden is pretty much everything 15 year old me wanted, and Zeppelin really fits who I am now. It's nice.

Given how well I didn't sleep last night and general background stress, the "you are actually a TERRIBLE PERSON!" thoughts are unsurprising, relatively easy to dismiss as specious, and still pretty annoying.

there's something very freeing in typing up a huge rant (in this case, yep, about antisemitism) then deleting it

there are literally two TTRPG player attitudes about sports;

1. "I grew up bullied and considered worthless because I wasn't a jock like what my schools wanted, so now I fucking hate sportsball, I hate how everything gets upended for it, I hate the fucking fans who don't get that they are doing absolutely fucking nothing while other people are playing the game."

2. "Oooh, fiddly rules and stats!"

Sometimes I think the most Jewish thing about me is how antisemitism is this deep wound I want to scream incoherently about, horrifyingly often.

My grandpa was pretty open minded and compassionate. I’m sure he was one of the “good ones” but I know what the NYPD is like now and (oddly as a jazz fan) about some terrible things the NYPD did then. If one good cop in Brooklyn can’t affect (probably didn’t know about) police in Manhattan, then a similar great guy can’t really change things much now. Assuming there are “good ones” out there they’ll need outside help.
