Rant via the day
Republicans did exactly what Republicans do best; ignore anything like a warning because their agenda is about getting tax cuts for their cronies, and then when it gets Americans killed, it’s an excuse for dumping money at something they want, in this case a couple of wars (different for Katrina and Covid).
Meanwhile as always the loudest conservative voices about this stuff are people who HATE New Yorkers and describe the city as everything they oppose, so fuck that hypocrisy.
So in OTHER news about NYC, they finally named the Lower East Side street corner featured on cover of Paul’s Boutique, after the Beasties. This means it’s time to be insufferable about the album.
Cash flow gettin’ low so I had to pull a job!
I found a nice place t’visit but a better place to rob! #SongLyrics
Also remembering that without the aspect of stress/anxiety attack, waking up in the middle of the night moves from "I can't sleep" to "I don't want to sleep because this is interesting/I hope fun stuff happens/and being at work tomorrow is the opposite of fun stuff happening." It's been so long since I had insomnia without stress/anxiety attack that I kinda forgot that was a thing.
Here's the extended version of "To the Shock of Miss Louise," the merry-go-round song from the BEST VAMPIRE MOVIE EVER IMHO, in case you didn't know there was an extended version.
Today I put flat colors on 8 inked drawings, figuring I can go back and finish them with cut-and-grad coloring later. Most of them were pretty elaborate, this is a lot of color in one day and I used to hate flatting as kinda grindy, but it’s a good exercise in thinking through color. But I stopped at a good point, since I was no longer feeling as conscious about those choices.
Lots of random gunk, but some drawings and cooking talk too. Obsesses about DnD and related topics. Left-leaning/profoundly frustrated politics. Black lives matter; trans rights are human rights.
