Another weird thing to come out of reading this book of humorous essays - there’s a story- is wanting to hang out with actual wolves at some point. when I was a kid in semi rural Georgia, because I kinda pass as white and straight, people would say the awfullest, shittiest things in front of me about Blacks, Gays (remember we had no concept you could be Queer in any other way) and only very rarely Jews. I assume a brave kid would get them to shut the hell up by punching them. I was not that brave and kept my head down, but this is an experience I really REALLY hate.
