Tonight’s experiment was sauerkraut soup (капуснякь) and this is definitely worth repeating.

okay, trying out a new soup recipe and at the laundromat (only washer's broken, thankfully - so I can still use the dryer at my place) I was able to read some of my book about canoes, like I would've gotten to read at lunch if I didn't need to drop everything to help a very important customer

so my new idea is actually getting enough rest, and this makes me less constantly irritable, so I get to bill my landlords, parents, and employers for it, and I call it Sleep as a Service

what I hope is that after the nightmare of the next 4 years is finally over, we (those of us who survive whatever national crisis/crises Trump intentionally botches) will stumble blinking and traumatized into an age of actual prosperity, open mindedness and safety

Like they did terrible controlling, abusive, discouraging, crazy making, neglectful shit to me and they still do, BUT they’re not bad people, just uncomfortable to deal with and innately linked to some of my worst memories. NONE of this deserves “my mind is going and my whole world has been reduced to one floor of a two story house.” None of it deserves “sole caretaker for someone with senile dementia on top of my own issues.”

I don’t like my parents very much, but my mom’s definitely deteriorated this last visit, my dad’s even more stressed and frustrated which isn’t a good thing in/for a caregiver, and it just sucks they’re facing all this. And literally I can’t think of anything else I can do right now. I know it doesn’t make sense to be this upset about people I don’t actually like but.
