Anyway have some #drawings from Tuesday. Riffing off the classic “barbarians as excuse for undressed girls with big hair.”

I was a day off. I did the whole deal one day early.

of course the Beastie's "We Got the" gets me to The Coup's "We Got the Guillotine" which is a LOT less nice.

I can't be the only person who thinks To The Five Boroughs was one of the best Beastie Boys albums, right up there with Paul's Boutique, Check Your Head, Licensed to Ill and Hello Nasty.

I was thinking as a holdover from the holiday, that it is in fact possible to want to become a better person without currently being a BAD person (childhood and more recent definition). Initially I thought of health - I feel like I could be healthier but that doesn't make me constantly sick - but now I'm realizing the middle of the night art post knocked that loose since that's essentially a description of artist-hood applied to ethics.

It now occurs to me that being an artist includes the process of feeling fairly good about what I've created, learned or achieved AND knowing there are lots of other people far better at this, without it having to be a competition. That what I do is actually okay without having to be the best, whatever that is. It's so very different than the exclusive, competitive attitudes of everything in childhood.

This last month has spent realizing that, if I'm around toxic people or events (for instance, thanks to prior terrible shit), terrible shit happening to me is likely thanks to the higher chance of terrible shit happening, not necessarily thanks to my innate flaws or "proper place" in the universe.

I guess the month ending with getting fired, is consistent.

When Germany went fascist they chose a veteran who'd worked as a blue collar, gone to prison, wrote an (incoherent) book. When Americans went fascist we chose a semi-literate television star and landlord who'd never seen anything remotely like hardship, so I think far more highly of Germans.

"Hitler was a better human being than [anyone really]" is not something you usually expect to say when you're a Queer Jewish left-winger, but uh. Yeah.

The adventurers made their way through a dungeon full of foes the likes of Melf’s Minute Minotaurs and deadly Assault Feet, but finally they were faced with Hellastakked the Boobulant, who the DM definitely didn’t draw on graph paper during lunch.

(And I definitely didn’t come up with this after seeing a very generously proportioned dragonborn miniature)

I have no clue what I just made but I finally used the last of the sausages.

Also the other day I had my first PSL of the season and it was basically good, but they used so much syrup it was sort of Samuel L Jackson yelling “pumpkin motherfucking spice, muthafucka!” syrupy. i’m amazed I don’t have cavities after that.
