Tonight took an unexpected turn for the very difficult. Masturbating got some emotional distance, but there's only so much you can fap away stuff that really pushes your buttons that hard, so this is still getting under my skin.

Apparently Wednesday is FEMA’s proposed cutoff date for food and water aid to Puerto Rico.

I called my Senators and left messages to fight this and extend further aid.

Honestly I feel like the way to affect actual change involves throwing heavy objects, probably on fire, but I’m too much of a Boy Scout for that. I can only assume I’ll die in a camp, from a pig, in a hate crime, or from the effects of anthropogenic climate change, still dutifully voting and calling my Congresswomen.

Ahead in the distance lay the many paired minarets of the fabled City of Bras, wherein could the traveler find one that actually fit and which didn’t have the underwire cutting into you.

One thing I remember was really cool in ERB’s original Tarzan stories (these are hugely problematic);

Tarzan is exceptionally smart. When he finds the home his biological parents built, it’s full of books intended for their kid (he never knew them, so he’s sure he’s an ape well into adulthood). So he teaches himself English but with arbitrarily chosen/ape phonemes- he can figure out what’s repeating vowels etc but his version sounds nothing like English.

Once again I was suddenly wide awake. I'm relaxing back towards sleep, now, but was seriously beating myself up about art stuff and where, as it turns out, that delves right into my baggage. And feeling completely out of place on this one Slack.

Wanting to skip work just because I don't want to be at work, not because it's terrible or I desperately want to go somewhere specific or anything.

so I broke a molar a while back, and got a temporary crown today and then went to work, and I'd like to think I was a good patient while they were filing down bits of tooth to mount that crown. So my jaw is all sore and I'm all paranoid about the crown coming off.

and I didn't do everything I wanted to do today but I did a little studying and drawing, at least.

You know the first Foo Fighters album? That's not *them*. That's *him*. The album started as Dave Grohl's demo tape as something he was doing to try to recover from Kudt's death, so actually getting a band together came later, all the instruments, vocals and mixing on Foo Fighters is Dave Grohl.

I was gonna spew hate based on what's going on with the State of the Union address, but I basically think Republicans will make bank by the time anyone can mobilize to clean up their fucking mess, and then they'll use how difficult cleanup is to villify anyone doing it. It really feels hopeless.

This is more specific to me, as I’m getting lunch! But it turns out Happy Donut in the financial district, isn’t just a doughnut shop. They have a really great selection of noodles and their prices are incredible for this part of San Francisco. Definitely a favorite place!
