trying to explain Spelljammer's "giff" to a friend, I hadn't realized the race had invented http://lost.spelljammer.org/ShatteredFractine/shipyard/docks/shipyd30/ships/gr8bombard.html
basically a bomb ketch
uh, I don't remember if recoil works the same way with Spelljammer smoke powder in phlogiston but somehow this design doesn't strike me as a great idea.
you'd think that on a clear, full-moonlit night, a park with pretty good views and lots of trees would be full of teenagers smoking weed, or possibly police there to harsh teenagers smoking weed. Nope. I could hear people talking about 100'+ away in one area with lots of acoustics, but other than that the only people I saw were ducks and possibly a bunny.
1) it’s all in your head. Not wind, not flag, mind is moving. The part I forget a lot, is that your head is not free floating in a power sled like MODOK, and therefore even though it’s all in your head it’s pretty intimately connected to your stomach etc.
2) it took me this long to realize that where cubicles can feel claustrophobic and isolating, open office settings duplicate a lot of the charm of being in grade/high school.
a solid education in low self worth plays out in observer bias. Wandering around prone to see where you've fucked up/haven't done enough is a pretty good guarantee that you will spot it, and promptly beat yourself up for it, which like most censure doesn't really improve anything.
Also, with the exception of some pickles and a muffin, I haven't eaten anything since 1:30 yesterday. I think this is my cue to grab a shower and walk some, see if I can make it to the nearest place open later.
"after the revolution"
the cosplay people swarming Seattle made me think: after the revolution, we might be able to imbue daily life with some of the semiotic richness and playfulness of that's currently seen mostly at cons and similar point-events. that lighter, looser sense of public life might help compensate for what, for many people, will be inevitably be a diminished material standard of living. i'm willing to make that trade personally.
"Arthas and Illidan" by Bayard Wu #WOW #ArtStationHQ https://www.artstation.com/artwork/r3YEa https://twitter.com/ArtStationHQ/status/979587582962143233/photo/1
Who did this, it’s awes... oh right. I don’t think Bayard Wu makes anything that *isn’t* ridiculously good.
Also, I wanted to share these Mike Ploog production drawings for Shrek, since they’re just awesome and I’m unsure anyone’s posted them online yet.

Caveat; “doing it first” counts for a lot. Like yeah, Sleeping Beauty or the “Disney renaissance” was better than the initial Disney feature films, but you don’t get there without Bambi and Fantasia. And yes, I just basically compared The Ramones to the Nine Old Men.
rant re RPO
(This, from the same person who just thumbnailed a Simon Stalenhag like Hello Kitty mech launching missiles, while listening to Shonen Knife. You have to actively work to make some concepts unappealing to me.)
rant re RPO
look I have no interest in your gamer fap-fantasy; I lived through the 80s, it was shit, from what I’ve heard Stranger Things is already an appeal out there to *my* 80s nostalgia, in which people are actually Black or women with more to do than be an ego boost, FUCK OFF. I don’t even give a clusterfuck that Alan Silvestri did the soundtrack. Selling me on RPO is as feasible as selling me an IRA or a yacht, only I actually would kinda like the latter two.
Lots of random gunk, but some drawings and cooking talk too. Obsesses about DnD and related topics. Left-leaning/profoundly frustrated politics. Black lives matter; trans rights are human rights.
