Okay, I wasn't originally sure Wardruna were okay (their frontman has really dissed on Christianity, and I've noticed that when white people diss "Christianity" it usually plays out in dissing Jews) but then I ran into his statement

Like; the would be wizard player wants his character to be an outcast from a warlike straightforward group, and likes WoW orcs - so WoW orcs are those guys in your world. The would be ranger likes halflings, so you have halflings, but the would be bard likes kobolds, so your world has kobolds. And then you model your villainous raiding armies or long forgotten ruin builders off your PCs, throw out a few more non player sapient species, call it a day?

I had a #DnD idea;

Most PC races are similar to those intended as NPCs and players constantly want to play them anyway. The big martial dudes who trust hitting things more than magic. The expert foresters who have tame animals. The sneaky trap wise rogues. What if you;

* set those options in front of the players and said hey these are the non humans; you tell me if they’re woodsy hyena-people, bearded gruff axemen, sneaky bat-rats, whatevs

* then extrapolate so those are the big NPC species?

Turns out anyone permanent and sales related has an off site tomorrow and I get 3 hours of my life back (unpaid). Do I;

1) go to an art supply store and a bookstore in the city and still clear out early?
2) head home and work on stuff for customers to clear more time this weekend?
3) head home and get in some needed practice painting?

#TMItuesday I never went to middle school. Where I grew up was rural enough that you went from grade school in 7th grade to high school in 8th.

Also, I never skipped grades because the public schools at that point had decided no student could.

Seriously are there many AMAB types out there - regardless of gender or identity - who haven’t been called “faggot” during grade/high school? It just seems like such a quintessentially hurtful part of growing up male in America.

Today remains slow at work which is okay; I’ve been watching YouTube videos about kayaking and using/maintaining an axe for chopping wood, which are things I should probably know more about. Also partly because of hitting my issues earlier, it’s being a processy day.

“Wear a safety vest and don’t mix alcohol and kayaking” are reasonable things and uh... the creator of naked, tripped-out canoeing would like to remind you that doing that safely was largely good luck.

Also, use your own damn canoe instead of assuming anything on the beach at the music festival is for group use.

So I ran into something which stomped hard on my issues, with cleats. The process of emotionally defusing that got me into just how interconnected my issues are. From here it manages to look like *both* stuff I could theoretically step out of easily *and* a tangled mess which can be nigh impossible to step away from.
