Dear coworker, if you email me on Saturday I won’t get it till Monday. I am also not going to work on Saturday. There are things in this world worth screwing over my weekends for, and they are things like “help friends get to the ER” not this shitty place.

Also may I just say that making a batch of office procedure rely on one employee, would be irresponsible and poor planning during normal flu/cold season let alone during a pandemic where, if I get this thing again, I’m out for 1-2 weeks?

stretched the leftover okra soup by adding leftover pasta sauce, some paprika and coriander, water, beef broth. Pretty okay but wound up adding dill to round it out. I have beet fennel soup going on the stove (slight change from recipe) and am making rice so I can make spam and fried egg sandwiches soon.

Anyway have a #drawing instead of undirected rage. Adventurers have just started to notice the guardian perched above the door.

I keep getting these little twinges of sadness today. Everything’s this longing. Feh.

I definitely feel that "four comorbidities" thing is making your data fit the conclusions you like, like if you have a reason to really go digging you can find "four comorbidities" for lots of people.

How many of us are walking around with psych problems thanks to public schools and churches? Unresolved health problems from lack of access to health care? Heart and kidney problems thanks to stress, and maybe we smoke or drink because we live in some rich assholes' masturbatory fantasy? How many of us have one or two comorbidities simply because OUR COUNTRY IS A FUNDAMENTALLY UNEQUAL RACIST, ANTI SEMITIC HOMOPHOBIC MISOGYNIST CLASS WAR?

In my dream I was the one escort, combination translator and bodyguard, to a smaller country's bureaucrat, who was meeting with her American counterpart flanked by multiple secret service guys and actually *good* translators. What's better, an increasingly hot agrarian disaster with decreasing biodiversity, a population saddled with debt, increasing rents and an on-paper covid response, OR all the above and also overt fucking white supremacy, the post office being obsoleted, and lining Trump's personal pockets.

Voting for them is still needed to protect my fellows and my planet, but that's staggeringly little protection indeed. How do you successfully communicate in this sort of situation that merely terrible is not what you want, that you would like okay or even good?
