The birds associated with this country are actually kinda cool and eat garbage. Like the USA's symbol shouldn't be a bald eagle. It should be something like a F150... crying tears from a Punisher skull at the front... bristling with assault rifles... in front of the twin towers.

It’s at times like this with the USA falling apart I’m glad I’m actually a dual citizen and if things get really bad I can leave for, uh. Um. Oops.

So I’m to understand that the new PM is a horrifying fascist, which is sort of good in that she’s not the other, different, horrifying fascist?

the down side to being reminded by people in other countries that the world is bigger than the USA (as an American I need the reminder), is that basically the same sort of unusually mean people are everywhere and wealth amplifies the ability to be mean, anywhere.

meine Herren heute sehen Sie mich Glaesser abwaschen
und ich mache die Bett fuer jeden

und Sie sieh'n ich bin ein Lump in dieses lumpiges Hotel
und Sie wissen nicht mit wem Sie ereden.

(This comes out of feeling 5e has an okay way of getting most characters' AC to resolve around 14-16ish, and leaning into a more believable part/light/unarmored look for adventurers. But it feels clumsy somehow and I'm not sure what I'm missing.)

Open question; what game systems either do more realistic or more cinematic combat than 5e? PF2e seems okay here, but despite my experience fencing I don't think I'm a particularly good judge of what's most realistic or fun for combat in games.

hot D&D take; skeletons and any monster from Greek mythology (cyclopes, minotaurs, medusae, devil dogs etc) all move with the characteristic slight jitter of stop-motion animation.

it's only garbage if it's from the La Garb region of France otherwise it's just sparkling trash

So if there’s a “panorama” which logically would be about bread and there’s “Bananarama,” theoretically somewhere there’s a poppy English band about banana bread.

That ol’ one story place went up in the 70s an’ if you listen real close on a quiet night you can still hear “Happy Days” and “Hawaii Five-O”

Propose that if “wolfing down food” is a concept, you can “coyote down food,” if it’s not particularly high quality. Like going to a Chinese buffet or getting multiple 7-11 hot dogs.

HAM? Did I say HAM?

Repeat my mantra!

Have I mentioned how fucking awesome it is to get Chinese with a friend instead of with my folks, who have the least Chinese taste in food of anyone who’s ever been in Brooklyn?

Images, fantasy humanoids, undead, eye contact

SKREEEEEEE

dreams last night

my dreams mixed looking at fantasy art/game splatbooks with this Matrix like scenario such that it was heavily implied that the halfling pantheon were just normal halflings who now existed only as online/in simulation presences. The art was theoretically by Wayne Reynolds and looked very little like his art, instead relying on broad graphic hatching, sometimes he'd actually push it into faux-block prints. The halfling gods' realm was this animation, I guess, of how the shadows in this dramatic cliff face/valley/palace changed throughout the day.

my new game, Invasion of the Goths, where you claim territory in the Western Empire by negotiating with Rome, recruiting Alan and Sarmatian allies, and having the most on-point outfits and makeup in the club
