A while back I was thinking about how I should play Heer in Bolt Action because that way, I'd know for sure the German player wasn't a neonazi. Now I think that might be a good idea because it'd avoid any tendency to idealize the Allies overmuch.

... I mean, that assumes that I'd go for WWII if I got back into wargaming at all. Wars of the Roses or Sengoku Japan are *way* more my speed.

man, I forgot this Zeppelin album had this track. I really, *really* can't listen to this tonight. *skip*

I don’t get it all that happens on OnlyYeens is footage of naps and eating really large sandwiches

If I told you Africa’s deadliest mammal had a skull like a draconic nightmare you’d believe that right? But what if I ALSO told you it looked absurdly cuddly and I wanted to hug it?

today; dwarf or duergar expedition to Sekamina (in Pathfinder) runs afoul of a small tyrannosaur, and a batch of sorcerers.

Um, you’d figure with the incidence of coffee and olive oil in Mediterranean cuisine if you could combine them effectively someone would have, several centuries back, and maybe there’s a reason it’s not a feature of Mediterranean cuisines.

Thought of the day; real urban slang borrows from social under classes forced into those cities. So D&D thieves cant would probably be full of Hin loanwords (maybe also goblin, dwarf or kobold) which probably furthers the stereotype of halflings as rogues.

my dude, did you watch the same Judge Dredd movie I watched in the 90s?

all these years I thought I was a monster, and I wasn't; I was just angry, often low on sleep and blood sugar as well, and the worst thing to be said about it was that being angry wasn't usually actionable, so it wasn't so useful here.

not directed at anyone here but; you shit aren't even human. I think you're some sort of nematode, parasitology textbooks in college were full of things like you.

"I want," the man said to the art robot, and then described an image in some detail.
"Certainly," said the art robot. A printout came out of its chest.
"Thank y- Hey! What's this?"
"A list of artists who make images of the kind you describe, and who are accepting commissions."

I definitely don’t want to attract mockery, but not much more traffic, by paying $8 to an antisemitic transphobe who makes more in a year than all of Australia.

Growing older, I had to accept making art for a living was probably not going to happen, but my consolation was; the most important thing was actually not money or safety from crap jobs but *entertaining* other people and myself. Unfortunately, a lot of how I reached people was Twitter, so now my ability to entertain is severely limited and I’m not quite sure how I feel about that.

I really really want to go to a convention, stay at a con hotel, go to parties, actually buy stuff. Right now it feels like that's never going to happen.

Did I ever tell y'all about the time I heard basically the same joke as a Jewish joke and as a martial arts joke?

The Jewish version; a guy goes to a schul in his new home town. It's beautiful, it's great, he feels really connected to the community and... everyone bows on the third step to the bima, consistently, no matter why they're going up there. After services, he's talking to the rabbi and brings this up, and the rabbi's answer is, "Oh! We used to meet in a big basement. There was a really low lying pipe right above the third step to the bima."

A few years later in a wing tsun class; there are some gong fu students, going through this taolu, where you do a number of kicks, blocks, and after about 15', you turn 180 degrees and repeat going the opposite direction. Eventually one of the students asks why the turn after 15'? And the sifu's answer is "Oh. I came up with this when I lived in a real small apartment."
