er not to be rude commenter person I don't know and whom I assume has politics further right of mine, but the folks who get the awesome march at the start of "The Battle of Britain" are most emphatically NOT the brave pilots who fought and died to protect us from tyranny.

ah yes the sound of my upstairs neighbors apparently practicing aikido

Swapping from the original version of “Sad but True” to The Hu’s cover, as you do

Mimicking firing arrows from horseback with a thumb draw while listening to The Hu, as you do

"I hate how life isn't about friendship or learning or creating, it's about making money for rich Master Race assholes" they thought and then they realized they needed to eat something.

oh no, I mistakenly asked for “Manara” instead of “marinara” sauce and now the pasta comes with a cute girl sticking her ass high in the air

“Gotta Lift and Separate ‘Em,” The Offspring’s song about trying to find a bra that fi…

oh wait it’s “Come Out and Play” and it’s NOT about bra shopping?

Previously, self hate helped cope with anger and despair; my whole childhood was about anger and learned hopelessness. Now my self-worth is better, but I’m still great at picking up on reasons for anger and despair and what I’m NOT good at is working with those feelings when they’re legitimate.

oh no I put on this “grunge playlist to make you feel like a teen in the 90s” I found on YouTube and now I’m waiting for Tiny Toon Adventures then Batman the Animated Series to come on

oh YEEEAH cruises! I could take a break from my cramped apartment surrounded by people with a high risk of respiratory infection, to be in a cramped cabin surrounded by people with a high risk of respiratory infection, with fruity drinks with little umbrellas and diving in a pool instead of the surrounding ocean!

I realize that it’s not particularly good sarcasm coming from someone who daydreams of taking Amtrak down the coast.

Oh yeah “One Way or Another,” Debbie Harry’s song about scooping a cat up to carry her around!

(Yes, I know. *I* used to sing part of it to the cat while picking her up.)

trying to find a specific march "which shows up during the Trooping of the Colour" turns out to be difficult and also this has been a little too much nationalism for me

ah much better

everyone please stand for England's national anthem.

you see someone might have been at the Asian Family Food Center on Monday, and they might have thought to themselves "oh wow there's lotus leaf sticky rice, and I love lotus leaf sticky rice!" and "there's oyster mushroom, and I love making mushroom gravy!" without entirely thinking through how lotus leaf sticky rice and oyster mushrooms can go off with time. So dinner tonight is a *lot* of rice, all told.

*listening to “The Sea Hawk” score*

Ah, here’s the point in the movie where Basil Rathbone falls off the stairs to lie in the surf with the incoming waves rolling over his chiseled features.

* ruins the Korngold music by cheering “soft focus! SOFT FOCUS!” during the romantic passages *

Okay next up is the “Elizabeth and Essex” score. And again I can see Williams being influenced; but he deserves credit for being able to pull on this stuff without really falling into Korngold’s patterns, which FEEL somehow very dated to the 30s-40s.

I have exactly no idea what happens in “King’s Row,” but Korngold’s music is so stirring I can only assume this is the part where they run out the guns and prepare to repel boarders. (Also wow; Williams REALLY was influenced by this score.)

Another night of falling asleep where I could snooze through the battle of Kursk next door, and then I woke up thanks to weird nightmares and was AWAKE.

Wet no joyfuw voice be heawud! Wet no foxxo wook to the sky wif hope! And wet dis day be cuwsed by we who pwepawe to wake... THE KWAKEN!

uWu!
