Suddenly realized that the X-Men are the real misfits of Marvel continuity because they’re people, not superheroes. A few web-crawlers, gamma irradiated monsters and superspies don’t completely rearrange the known world like mutants, who are as likely to become super-roofers, talk show hosts or automotive engineers who never really use their powers. And unlike the Inhumans, who largely do their own thing, the whole deal with X-Men is that mutants integrate.

Holy crap visibility is terrible today and yet the waves are stupid awesome and there’s a ton of people in the water right now.

Successfully made myself draw for 2.5-2.75 hours or so. Good. That’s a start.

Mistaken for a recent immigrant again. Granted I look very Ukrainian/Russian and who else would buy tarragon soda and pickled Pattinson squash? And it’s flattering. But sadly my Russian’s not adequate to carry me all the way through not needing a bag etc. I really really should fix that.

Went to used bookstore for the first time in months, got a comic book (Frank Quietly art), a magazine (Osprey, had an article about Flodden which interests me as a battle), and a movie (Dark City). Still feeling not great but moving, so better.

Ugh, I’m depressed. The don’t-want-to-move variety of depression which I’m usually too motivated or anxious to get. Plan is to head south, and make myself draw.

I now worry I've offended the fuck out of my friends and really fuck up everything, and my thought patterns and mood are spiraling in crummy ways. At least I managed to make it to Friday evening before feeling like my death would be an improvement on the world.

b) try out some ideas about cell shading that might work better with my line heavy style
