The very concept that a generation of folks spend so many years basically doing nothing instead of becoming more technologically advanced pisses me off. Like, I know the implication is "they did and weren't happy" or something but fuck that that's so fucking stupid.
Is this the amount of imagination that others have? maybe the point was to be really sad but it just makes me like
irrationally angry.

@Oneironott This is why I stopped reading it yeah. It was just taking this long swan dive into nihilism and that was overwhelming anything fun about it

@Oneironott like, I knew this was JB's position because the ending of tebow cfl staked it out, and I disagreed with it then for the same reasons you stated, but at least then there were many more things going on
whereas this is basically written like it's defensively responding to jon bois' twitter mentions in real time

@Oneironott and thats just a really bad way to write anything, I have learned that one the hard way

@Oneironott btw if you just wanna talk about futures and cool shit we should do in the future instead of thinking about that trashbucket football thing I'm very up for that

@Linael yes!!!!
futures!!
@Oneironott so yeah one idea I have is around various extensions of neuromapping. there's sooooo many things we'll be able to do once we can split off and change little bits of ourselves in a controlled manner
futures!!
@Oneironott like!:
- artificially induced multiplicity?? good at friendships
- changing yourself to make yourself more confident or talk like a water nymph or whatever the hecku
- this is the part I'm really excited about is you can craft little agreements w/ yourself to create things, and then show them to the rest of yourself and it feels brand new
- also you can get up to some bedroom stuff with all that!
futures!!
@Oneironott terraforming's good too, we can start spreading out to different idyllic planets like they're mastodon instances (or I guess more so IRC servers because lightspeed limited communication but.)
it wont be environmentally catastrophic to move people if you can just send (multiply backed-up) mind-info and reconstruct the body at the destination planet
futures!!
@Oneironott like :) i'm gonna get wiiiiings
how the fuck anyone not excited about wings
futures!!
@Oneironott idk to each their own but i am excited about wings
futures!!
@Linael yeah!! I mean!!! Those are things to excite us folks :) I hope it happens before I move on, but I'm just happy that all this stuff is just… inevitable. Not… really a doubt in my mind that inevitably we will be about to do such~ 💙
futures!!
@Oneironott which, yeah, you'd need a way to do that (and probably not an Arbitrary Matter Creator because thats way too dangerous) but it seems very doable and with "many people want different bodies!" now in the mainstream and increasingly acknowledged in/part of tech, well.
